Microsoft officials have officially denied any plans to incorparate the victorious Blu-Ray drive in their console gaming system, the Xbox 360. Sony might be celebrating the victory but, in Microsoft's eyes, the real winner is about to emerge. The main reason for Microsofts rejection of Blu-Ray was their belief in the real money being in digital; Xbox Live's capability of delivering movies (including High Definition Movies) and other content and allowing users to download it instantly. The online digital media, instead of physical media,  seems to be better placed in the minds of MS officials.

Reports from certain news websites have indicated that Microsoft maybe inheriting an add-on Blu-Ray player for the HD-DVD inclined console. Sony's response hints this as a possibility and that they company is open to.

Along with the death of HD-DVD, Microsoft's HD-DVD (optional) drive has now been discontinued. The HD-DVD add-on was one of the many great ideas Microsoft had, since nobody was certain who would triumph in the war between HD-DVD and Bluray. Mind you, if the HD-DVD was implemented within the console, like the Playstation 3 has the Blu-Ray, the outcome of the war might have been different...
